Xforce Rejoins the B-SUV Sales Race
In October, Mitsubishi's model recorded its best monthly sales since the start of the year, though it did not narrow the gap with the Yaris Cross.
In October, Mitsubishi Xforce returned to the sales race with its highest monthly total since the start of the year - 1,854 vehicles. But rival Toyota Yaris Cross was close behind, selling 1,833 units. The sales gap between Xforce and its fellow Japanese competitor therefore did not narrow much.
Xforce was offered with promotions and discounts, and Yaris Cross saw the same at dealerships. The sales battle between the two internal combustion models remains unsettled, but the advantage is now clearly tilting toward Toyota's model with two months left in 2025.
As of October, Yaris Cross had sold 1,600 more units than Xforce. Their average monthly sales were 1,148 units and 988 units, respectively. Xforce will need major leaps in the final two months of the year; otherwise, it will struggle to retain the segment sales crown for a second consecutive year, considering only gasoline-powered models.
Alongside the battle between the two Japanese models, VinFast VF 6 firmly held the top spot. A lead of more than 5,000 units over the runner-up means VinFast's all-electric model is all but assured of being the segment's best-seller in the first year its sales figures have been disclosed. VF 6 and Yaris Cross account for about half of the segment's market share. VinFast's model holds 30%, while Toyota's product accounts for 21%.

Compared with the same period last year, demand in the B-segment CUV market rose sharply in the first 10 months of 2025 (55,622 vehicles), up 46%, mainly thanks to the addition of VF 6 sales. Looking only at the internal combustion segment, total sales reached 38,673 vehicles, up a modest 2% from the same period in 2024.
Toyota Yaris Cross was the gasoline model with the strongest sales growth (37%). Yaris Cross's biggest rival, Xforce, fell 14%. Other models such as Honda HR-V, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta also posted sales declines of 1-10%. Mazda CX-3, meanwhile, improved slightly with sales up 2% but remained the slowest-selling model in the segment.
The presence of VF 6 and Japanese rivals Yaris Cross and Xforce has left former leaders Seltos and Creta with no chance of breaking back into the top-selling group in 2025. That is because the gap between the best-selling Korean model - the third-placed Creta - and Xforce is more than 3,700 vehicles.
